Jeremy Orgel, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with decades of experience serving adolescents and adults across a broad range of mental health settings. Based in Texas, he provides outpatient psychiatric care that combines diagnostic expertise with an individualized, integrative approach to treatment. His practice includes comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and collaboration with community-based therapists and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Prior to relocating to Texas, Dr. Orgel spent more than 25 years practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he developed extensive experience in both private practice and hospital-based psychiatry. He held a long-standing position at St. Mary’s Medical Center’s Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, caring for young people experiencing acute psychiatric crises. During his tenure, he also served in leadership roles, including Medical Director, helping guide clinical programs and patient care initiatives.

Dr. Orgel’s academic background reflects a longstanding interest in the humanities as well as medicine. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in literature from Columbia University before receiving his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed psychiatric training at the University of California, San Francisco and later pursued advanced psychoanalytic studies through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. He also contributed to medical education as an assistant clinical professor at UCSF.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Orgel enjoys spending time outdoors through hiking, swimming, and birdwatching. He also values creative and intellectual pursuits, including music, reading, cooking, and piano.
